Two new remixes of Late Of The Pier single, 'Best In The Class', courtesy of Simon Bookish and Belgian duo Soulwax. The latter present a massive, rampaging mix that quickly lodges itself in your consciousness, slamming down the most caustic of croaking basslines that on headphones just seems to fill your ears up all by itself. Simon Bookish is up next, exerting an altogether quirkier, stuttery electropop version of the track.
A deep, jacking monster, accentuated by soulful vocal flourishes and driving synth paranoia. Azari & III have been on fire recently both in their broad variation of styles and choice of remixers. Acid House, old school rave and Techno are all employed here on their debut Turbo release. It takes vision to make music that sounds both authentic and cutting-edge, and it takes real skill and talent to pull it off this well.
Happy 50th BNR! Boys Noize are celebrating 50 releases since 2005 when the label made its first steps. Having released music from Boys Noize, Housemeister, D.I.M., Djedjotronic, Les Petits Pilous, Shadow Dancer, Strip Steve, Siriusmo, Chilly Gonzales, Brodinski, Mixhell, Scissor Sisters and more, the label opts for a celebratory return from the label's head honcho. He presents two new original tracks - one, a real Boys Noize monster, the neolithic 303 Acid-House track
The third release from Mako Records is focused on an infamous Russian: Polymorphic. MAKO003 EP ''Rock to Play'' by Polymorphic is another chance to get your fix from the Russian electronic machine. In 2008, Polymorphic drew the spotlight with his remix of Proxy's ''Raven'' on Turbo. Not long before, he was just a child using his tape recorder to look for sounds, cutting them, and changing the speed.
